Hon. Engr. Olufemi James Urrah Officially Declares for AMAC/BWARI House of Representatives 2027

A New Chapter of Leadership Begins for AMAC/BWARI

Abuja, FCT — Hon. Engr. Olufemi James Urrah has formally declared his candidacy for the House of Representatives seat representing the AMAC/BWARI Federal Constituency in the 2027 General Elections under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), unveiling a bold vision centred on service, accountability, and people-focused representation.

The declaration marks a defining moment for thousands of residents across AMAC and BWARI who have long called for a stronger voice in the National Assembly and a representative who remains accessible, responsive, and committed to community development.

Speaking before supporters, community leaders, youth groups, women associations, professionals, and party stakeholders, Urrah emphasized that his campaign is not merely about winning an election but about building a movement dedicated to improving lives and creating opportunities for all.

"Our constituency deserves more than promises. It deserves practical solutions, effective representation, and leadership that listens to the people. This campaign is about putting AMAC/BWARI first and ensuring that our communities receive the attention, resources, and advocacy they deserve."

The declaration officially launches the OJU 2027 movement, a campaign built on the principles of Ownership, Justice, and Unity.

Why I Am Running

For many years, residents across AMAC and BWARI have voiced concerns about unemployment, poor infrastructure, limited economic opportunities, inadequate healthcare services, security challenges, and the need for stronger representation.

Urrah explained that his decision to contest stems directly from these concerns and from his conviction that public office should be used to improve the quality of life of ordinary citizens.

According to him, representation must extend beyond election cycles and become a continuous partnership between elected officials and the people they serve.

"Our communities deserve a representative who remains present, accountable, and committed to delivering results. We cannot continue with politics that only appears during elections and disappears afterward."

The OJU 2027 Agenda

At the heart of the campaign is a development blueprint built around six strategic pillars that reflect the priorities of residents throughout the constituency.

Youth & Employment

Young people remain the greatest asset of AMAC/BWARI. The campaign seeks to promote skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, innovation, vocational training, and opportunities that enable young people to participate fully in the economy.

The objective is to advocate for policies and programmes that create sustainable employment opportunities and reduce barriers to economic advancement.

Education

Quality education remains one of the most powerful tools for social and economic transformation.

Urrah's agenda supports improved learning environments, scholarship opportunities, digital literacy, vocational education, and stronger educational partnerships that prepare young people for future opportunities.

Healthcare Access

Every family deserves access to quality healthcare.

The campaign will advocate for stronger primary healthcare systems, improved healthcare infrastructure, preventive healthcare programmes, community outreach initiatives, and better access to medical services for underserved communities.

Infrastructure & Roads

Development requires functional infrastructure.

The OJU Agenda prioritizes improved roads, water systems, electricity, drainage networks, transportation infrastructure, and public services that support economic growth and community wellbeing.

Security & Safety

Safe communities are essential for development.

The campaign supports stronger collaboration between communities and security agencies, community policing initiatives, intelligence sharing, youth engagement programmes, and proactive measures that help protect lives and property.

Women Empowerment

Women play a critical role in family stability, economic growth, and community development.

The campaign advocates for greater economic opportunities, entrepreneurship support, leadership development programmes, and policies that promote inclusion and equal opportunities for women.

Building Representation That Works

Urrah stressed that one of the greatest challenges facing many constituencies is the growing disconnect between elected officials and the people they represent.

He pledged to establish regular town hall meetings, constituency consultations, digital engagement platforms, and transparent reporting mechanisms designed to keep constituents informed and involved.

"Our people should not have to wait four years to hear from their representative. Effective representation means maintaining an ongoing conversation with the people and ensuring that their concerns are reflected in policy decisions."

The campaign also proposes the creation of constituency engagement initiatives that provide direct channels for residents to contribute ideas, raise concerns, and monitor progress.

A Campaign Built on Ownership, Justice and Unity

The OJU movement derives its strength from three core principles.

Ownership

Government must belong to the people.

Citizens should have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their lives and communities.

Justice

Development must be fair, inclusive, and accessible to all.

Every resident deserves equal opportunities regardless of background or circumstance.

Unity

The diversity of AMAC/BWARI is one of its greatest strengths.

The campaign seeks to unite communities around shared goals of progress, peace, and prosperity.

Looking Ahead to 2027

As preparations for the 2027 General Elections continue, Team OJU is expanding its engagement efforts across all wards within the constituency.

The campaign plans to deepen community consultations, strengthen grassroots participation, encourage voter registration, and build a broad coalition of residents committed to positive change.

Supporters at the declaration event described the campaign as an opportunity to bring fresh energy, practical leadership, and renewed hope to the constituency.

For many residents, the declaration represents more than the launch of a political campaign—it represents the beginning of a movement focused on delivering results and creating opportunities for future generations.

The journey to 2027 has officially begun.

The mission is clear.

The vision is bold.

And together, the people of AMAC/BWARI can build a stronger future founded on Ownership, Justice, and Unity.
